How can One Word be powerful?

I don’t know, but it is.

The last two years my life have been impacted, changed, and enriched by One Word.

As I studied and kept my One Word before me throughout each year the word’s richness grew deep in my soul, creating powerful life changes. My view of God has enlarged while meditating on His character through the word’s meaning and songs I worshiped to pertaining to my One Word.

A friend of mine contacted me extremely excited about her One Word for 2017.

“I’ve been desperately trying to change external … He, of course, cuts to my heart because then my externals will change.” Her word is, ENOUGH. She said, “I never do things because I’m waiting to be good ENOUGH, or have ENOUGH, or be ENOUGH, This has been a prison. If I start from a place that He and I are ENOUGH then everything gets to be enjoyed instead of endured. There is joy, peace, acceptance, freedom & love through knowing I’m ENOUGH in Him.”

I bought the ebook, My One Word, Change Your Life with Just One Word by Mike Ashcraft & Rachel Olsen. Though helpful I choose my 2015 One Word by others explaining the concept.

Take your time picking your Word. Don’t rush your selection.

Think through questions like:

How do I want my life changed this year?

What kind of person do I want to become?

What area do I need to grow?

Ponder through these questions.

Allow your thoughts and prayers to dig into the fibers of your soul.

Make a list of words that come to you … any words. Prayed over the words.

Henry Hendricks said, “The secret to concentration is elimination.”

One Word will strongly resonate in you and rise to the surface. You will know!

Don’t worry about picking the exact “right” word. There’s no performance, perfection or comparison allowed.

This is your One Word … your year … your life.

Even though it’s near the end of January you are not too late.

I picked my first word in April 2015 when learning about the “One Word” from a wonderful group of Discovery ladies attending a Refresh Retreat. They intrigued me and enticed me through their enthusiasm and by the bracelets made containing their One Word.

This year I’m excited to make a bracelet with my One Word.

If you see me, I’ll show you and explain my One Word’s impact on my life.

Then you can show me yours!

If you have your One Word for this year … tell us about it!
