An orange colored t-shirt arrived at my house all nicely tucked in its envelope, the address label made out to me. The words were so prominently inscribed on the front in white letters.

I laid it on the table alongside a “You are Awesome” pin and 2 copies of Meghan Telpner’s books (my instructor for the academy), one signed to me.

Yes, Today IS the day.

I waited eleven years and now it’s time.

One of my faith statements came true – my application for culinary school has been accepted!

In 2006 I began journaling in a tiny little orange notebook which held God’s promises to me when spending time with God was precious and life-changing. God really spoke to me each morning, so I began writing.

You see, He told me I had to “name it to claim it.” I had to begin telling myself those things I desired to be true for my life as though they were already in existence.

I had no idea WHEN I’d see them come to pass, and for some, I am still waiting and believing. The stirring of these thoughts were so strong, writing them down was like telling someone and confirming God’s promises. These were statements of faith, and it took action on my behalf to believe them to be true, regardless of when.

Over 2,000 years ago, an angel appeared to a young girl, engaged to be married and not even high school age, a virgin who would’ve been stoned to death if found to have been unwed yet pregnant. But God chose her, stirred in her and asked her to be the mother of the Savior of the World.

What would you say to God?

Unwavered by fear, or doubt, Mary, the Mother of Jesus, said yes.

Was this real? Was this true? There were no sonogram or pregnancy test to confirm or deny, and yet Mary believed.

She ran to Elizabeth to confirm what she believed to be true and praised the Lord.

Luke 1:45 “Blessed is she who BELIEVES that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.”

Do you BELIEVE what you know to be true, or do you need a pregnancy test or sonogram to be sure?

Can you believe, unwavered by fear or doubt, naming it and claiming it?

God has a whole lot of promises in His word for you and I.

Get out your pens and paper or tablet and start writing it down.

God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. You ARE who God says You ARE.

Today is the day!
