After the confetti settles and the noisemakers are tossed, it’s time to reflect on last year and ponder what’s to come in the year ahead.

For me, 2016 was chocked full. It started with a failed IVF cycle and finished with being 5 months pregnant, expecting our precious baby boy.

It is incredible how God meets you in such a dark place, walks you through, out and into something amazing. God did just that as he carried my husband and I through another round of IVF. Never in a million years did we think we would do IVF once, let alone twice! But God was always one step ahead and through Him we have blessing on the way.

It’s hard to believe that anything can top 2016, but 2017 is sure to be memorable. Becoming parents will be uncharted territory. Honestly, I have moments of total fear. It’s a big job and the pressure of parenting well is immense. I hope to parent as God has intended, instilling faith and values to our little one. Thankfully, we’re not alone. We have the loving support of our family, friends, and community. With them, we know we’ll be the parents God wants us to be.

Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

I’m enjoying being grateful for the days leading up to our child’s birth. Every day is a gift.

Where is He leading you this year?
