After further prayer and reflection they came to believe God is calling our church to attempt one of our boldest local and global initiatives in years. You might be thinking, ‘Is this a good time?’ There’s a job crisis, housing crunch and the stock market is causing considerable anxiety.
Yes, now!
In 2 Corinthians 8, the Apostle Paul challenges us with the remarkable faith story of the Macedonian church that mirrors our modern times. He says, …Here is a people so transformed, so grateful to God that their overwhelming response to the need before them became historic. And we’re asking God to do this again, through us, in 2012.
2 Corinthians 8:1-5 (MSG) “Now, friends, I want to report on the surprising and generous ways in which God is working in the churches in Macedonia province. Fierce troubles came down on the people of those churches, pushing them to the very limit. The trial exposed their true colors: They were incredibly happy, though desperately poor. The pressure triggered something totally unexpected: an outpouring of pure and generous gifts. I was there and saw it for myself. They gave offerings of whatever they could - far more than they could afford! Pleading for the privilege of helping out in the relief of poor Christians. This was totally spontaneous, entirely their own idea, and caught us completely off guard. What explains it was that they had first given themselves unreservedly to God and to us. The other giving simply flowed out of the purposes of God working in their lives.”
There are two ways to give to the Bold Reach Initiatives, through your Fellowship One account or via PayPal.
Please note that if you give via paypal you will need to print and keep your receipt for tax purposes. Giving via paypal will not appear on your year-end giving statement from Discovery.

Studies have indicated that visibility and permanency increase community impact and ministry effectiveness. Your special offering will help open permanent facilities ensuring the ministry of Discovery Church and the good news of Jesus Christ is available in these communities 24/7- 365 days a year. Our Southwest campus has located a facility that will provide a daily accessible ministry outpost while continuing to worship on weekends at Olympia High School. Our East campus has located a generously sized facility with a long-term lease adequate for all campus ministry operations. Both locations are an ideal fit for our Discovery mission and DNA. Campus specific build out resources are needed to make these ministries vitally functional.
