Oh the joy of Christmas; God is the author and He is the one who brings the warmth of this most treasured emotion to the chambers of our heart. When joy reigns, all is well with the world, but when joy escapes our grip, struggle seeps its weary way into our lives.
We struggle to wear the perfect outfit, to choose the perfect tree, to cook the perfect meal and to give the perfect gift. And bigger still, we struggle to speak the right words, to love without conditions, to give grace and forgive, to be grateful and share, to be bold and release fear, to slow down and to rest and to wait for our joy to be found again.
In the face of every struggle, God is in our midst. His “Gift of Christmas” is the answer to every bad dream, every broken promise, every lost hope, every disappointment, every turn in the road, every fear and every tear.
A song of rejoicing rings out in the bottomlessness of every struggle, because indeed, the richness of God meets us there allowing joy to come forth.
In our struggle, we must always remember; Hope has made the path clear to peace, which will always birth joy in the deepest part of every heart that understands and lives out of what is known to be true.
The wonder of the Christ child, born to live, to die and to live again for the redemption of all mankind is the purest of all joy.
A joy that cannot be bought, only received. A joy that rises above circumstances and holds tight to the promise that Jesus has come and will indeed come again, when all will be made new.
Jesus is our hope; Jesus is our peace; Jesus is our joy;
All truths to shout out, truths to live out, and truths that change everything.
May God’s sweet joy be yours as you celebrate the gift of Jesus.
“And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
